Armor People Link is hiring for full time position of SEWER for our client based out in Scarborough. Our client is a manufacturing company that deals into office furniture like chairs, table, etc. Sewer will be operating an industrial sewing machine with a mixture of fabric and leather. They will be sewing seating for office chairs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creates slip covers skillfully and according to instructions
Sews quality covers as integral part of production process for standard and special orders.
Aligns parts, fasteners, and trimmings, following seams, edges, or marking.
Selects threads and zippers according to specifications or colour of parts.
Trims excess threads and edges of covers to achieve desired look of quality product.
Identifies and addresses issues with materials, ensuring quality standards are upheld.
Manages time and prioritizes tasks to ensure completion of daily production schedule.
Steams completed chairs when required.
Assists new/temporary employees with understanding tasks.
Sews products within the allotted production standard time.
2.Performs all tasks in keeping with Keilhauer's safety and quality standards
Ensures quality of work meets Keilhauer standards.
Reports any incidence of non-conformance or unacceptable quality.
Maintains and cares for sewing machine and other tools, and keeps work areas clean and orderly; informs Supervisor of issues.
Follows all company and OSHA Safety regulations; works in a safe manner and uses personal protective equipment as instructed; reinforces housekeeping and Keilhauer's core values.
Requirements:
What we are looking for:

A dynamic, enthusiastic and collaborative professional who is able to perform the manufacturing and general manual work duties. Person who is having basic work ethic and good attitude as an employee. This includes, but not limited to, Hard working, self-driving, eager to learn; eager to do a good job and having good communication skills. Good at time management, not to mention punctuality and regular attendance.

 Previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility an asset.
 Completion of high school or training/education from a vocational/trade school is an asset.
 General knowledge of industrial sewing machines and their use.
 Rework skills and hand-eye coordination is a must.
