Length: 24 months contract with the possibility of extension and conversion to full time employment
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) - 3 times per week in office, flexible but team goes in Tuesday to Thursday
Working Hours: 37.5hrs per week
Line of Business: Global Asset Management

ROLE MANDATE:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as an Associate, Strategic Relationship Management. This role is focused on strengthening relationships with institutional clients, driving continuous service improvements, and supporting business retention through proactive engagement. The selected candidate will be supporting the Institutional segments team and primarily acting as a liaison for onboarding activities between customers and legal, compliance, AML, asset management, portfolio managers, operations, and business development teams.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
Strengthens relationships with institutional clients, ensuring business retention and delivering exceptional service
Coordinates relationship management activities with internal teams, including Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Indigenous Banking, Indigenous Trust, Commercial Banking, and other stakeholders
Proactive client engagement to identify and meet client needs
Works with senior staff on larger and/or more complex client relationships and issues
Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues and provide insights and recommendations based on data and business strategy
Develops, maintains, and executes a business plan, including relationship management strategies, to achieve retention objectives
Prepares client and market summaries as required and participates in industry and prospect events to grow presence in the marketplace
Provides timely and effective responses to client questions and issues, ensuring adherence to compliance, regulatory, and legal guidelines
Monitors and tracks performance, addressing any issues and providing input into operational programs and product development
Demonstrates effective use of customer relationship management systems and other tools to support reporting and communication
Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules
Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
4 to 6 years of relevant experience and education (Business/Finance/Statistics degree)
Growing understanding of relationship management and market dynamics
Previous banking/financial institution experience
Knowledge of Investment terms
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Collaborative mindset and the ability to influence and build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in data-driven decision-making and using insights to guide strategic actions
Self-starter and strong time management
Detail oriented
Professional and polished demeanor and comfortable with client facing interactions
Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
Previous experience with document collection and tracking
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
Experience with eVestments database (Nasdaq) a nice to have
Project management/coordination experience an asset
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
First Round - 30 minutes in person interview with Senior Team Member
Second Round - 30 minutes MS Teams with Hiring Manager
Interview format will consist of behavioral/situational style questions
