Length: Contract term approximately 8 months with possibility extensions
Location: Remote, Canada
Hours: Standard Hours of work are 08:15 - 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the province

Scope:
The Resource will provide code deployment services for the Intel (Windows), and UNIX based business application environments for the supported Ministries. Familiarity with source code control and Application Lifecycle Management is required in this position. Responsibilities include deployment of applications that are written in C#.Net, PowerBuilder, C, Pro*C, Perl, Java, Kornshell and database deployments in MS SQL and Sybase. The resource, over the course of the contract, may be tasked with other duties outside those initially supported Ministries and will be required to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.

Duties:
 Controlling and securing business application source code, executable load modules and business application data;
 Updating software releases as required, including the testing and implementation of new releases of operating systems;
 Maintaining migration documentation that incorporates operating procedures, standards and guidelines;
 Supporting the acceptance testing and production environments;
 Assisting in problem resolution and providing general support;
 Developing and modifying automated tools/scripts that are used for deployment;
 Providing on-call support on an as-needed basis
 Be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision;
 Status reporting to the Manager as required;
 Adhering to quality assurance guidelines and maintain quality assurance on all deliverables;
 Managing timelines;


Qualifications:
Must Haves:
- The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:
 University graduation in Information Technology or a related discipline and 3-yr Application Analyst (AA) experience;
OR
 2-yr diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline and 5-yr AA experience;
OR
 1-yr certificate in Information Technology or a related discipline and 6-yr AA experience;
OR
 7 yr AA experience
- Experience creating and maintaining batch scripts and utilities.
- Experience in application maintenance and development that include: writing, modifying, integrating, testing, and documenting software code.
- Experience using Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps Server.
- Experience with building and deploying software solutions between multiple environments (Development, Acceptance, Production, etc.) in a Windows client server environment
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices in Team Foundation Build/Azure Pipelines.

Nice to Have:
- Experience and technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience as a Deployment Analyst for UNIX applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 or higher.
- Experience with scripting tools, such as Powershell.
- Experience with using JIRA or Revision Control System (RCS)
- Experience with using Powerbuilder to build business PB apps
