Our printing client is looking for a Mail Associate (Driver's license, Printing, Dock)
Length: 6 months contract with the possibility of extension
Location: Markham, Ontario (Onsite)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week
Pay Rate: $20/hr (T4)

Requirements:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare mail and packages for external shipment using common mail services including fax, air express, freight and postal services
Receive, sort and process mail documents, packages, and supplies. Notify recipients
Basic Printing utilizing colour production printers
Record and process accountable mail information, maintain logs
Shipping and receiving using automated system to track and manage activity
Arrange alternative courier or shipping services to meet customer requirements
Determine output packaging per packaging standards
Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments
Operate mail equipment including mail inserters, sorters and finishing equipment
Perform quality checks on outbound mail
Perform charge-back reporting for postage, air express, local delivery, and faxes
Perform mail labeling/mail merge
Perform electronic mail distribution (open, mail prep, scan and distribute)
Perform fulfillment functions, such as assembly, packaging, and kitted materials
Follow mailroom security procedures
Perform logging, transmission, receipt, and timely distribution of faxes
Deliver and pick-up mail on scheduled runs
Recommend improvements to achieve cost savings and optimize workflow
Track, trace, and resolve mail problems or concerns
Monitor/order/replenish supplies inventory
Able to be on your feet 80% of the time
Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Ability and willingness to learn
Have a valid driver's license
Qualifications:
SKILLS
Good communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated
Able to read, write and follow English instructions
Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office
Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform duties with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Mailroom Equipment
Proficiency in using postage machines, mail sorters, scanners, copiers, and basic office technology (printers, fax machines, etc.).
Ability to use email, data entry systems, and shipping software (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS tools)
Organizational Skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize high volumes of mail accurately and efficiently
Physical Stamina and Manual Handling
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing/walking for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks
Clear verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, delivery personnel, and occasionally external clients
Time Management
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines, especially during peak delivery times (e.g., end of month, holidays)
Security Awareness
Understanding of mailroom security protocols, including the handling of sensitive/confidential material
EXPERIENCE
6 months to 1 year experience in a professional working environment
Experience in a client-facing environment
Mail Handling and Distribution Experience
Prior experience sorting, distributing, and processing incoming/outgoing mail and packages is critical for immediate productivity

Previous dock experience
EDUCATION
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting and Carrying
o Ability to lift and carry packages or mail bins typically weighing up to 25-50 pounds
o May occasionally need to move heavier items using carts or dollies
Standing and Walking
o Extended periods of standing and walking are common while sorting, delivering, and organizing mail
o Frequent movement throughout a building or campus may be required
Bending, Reaching, and Stooping
o Regular need to bend, stoop, and reach overhead to retrieve or store mail and packages in shelves, slots, or bins
Manual Dexterity
o Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills are necessary for sorting, opening, and handling various types of mail and packages
o Proficiency in using tools such as box cutters, letter openers, and mailing machines
Visual and Reading Ability
o Ability to read small print on labels, addresses, and shipping information
o May require basic computer and scanner use, requiring screen reading and data entry
Mobility
o Must be physically mobile enough to navigate narrow aisles, stairs, elevators, and loading docks as needed
Ability to operate mailroom equipment (e.g., postage machines, fax machines, copiers)
Ability to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures, particularly near loading docks or in warehouses
