Reporting directly to the Materials Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, handling and providing raw materials to production as required. The Material Handler identifies, transports, packages, removes and disposes of materials in accordance with Safe Work Procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills and will also be capable of responding quickly to the ever-changing production needs. They are also responsible to pick and fill workstations, record all materials transferred to work stations, process IPR transfers (Internal Product Requests), process RMA's (Returned Materials Authorizations), perform accurate cycle counts, snow removal, and generate all shipping - domestic and export, and receiving documentation, and
Receive materials, including:
- Physical verification of part number, quantity, and visual inspection for damage
- Report and record any material shortages, damages, and/or discrepancies
- Predetermined incoming inspections
- Ensure product is stored in its designated location
- Move material between designated stock locations
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately by deadline
Qualifications
- Grade 12 Diploma, or equivalent
- Experience in material handling, or previous comparable job experience
- Competent in the safe operation of a forklift
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel programs
- Strong organizational skills
- Above average math skills
