ROLE MANDATE:
Strategic Pricing Analyst, will have an agenda to support the Home Financing Pricing team in overall pricings strategy through building analytics solutions, reporting capabilities, processes, and tactics (both episodic and programmatic) to fully exploit pricing capabilities for the benefit of our customers and the profitability of the business.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (including but are not limited to):
Help drive profitability, productivity, and service levels by assisting in developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive customer-level pricing strategy to maximize shareholder value across all channels of distribution, over the life of individual products and product lines
Set and manage rate tables load, posted rates, pricing discretion and exception policy for the product suite to manage spreads and optimize growth and profitability
Manage the development and maintenance of pricing models and tools to support spread management optimization and support analysis
Identify, execute, and manage initiatives to further the company's ability to effectively design and price products
Improve the understanding of price elasticity of demand, analyze the trade-off between product attributes and demand
Analyze the effectiveness of past pricing decisions and track the success of adopted pricing strategies
Identify and improve pricing process and operations to ensure fast decision making leading to greater customer satisfaction
Accumulate pricing knowledge over time to drive increasingly valuable business insights
Qualifications:
SKILLS:
Write queries using SQL, Power BI report building, data mining/analysis in enterprise data warehouse, working knowledge of other data management and report presentation tools
Emphasis on analytical skills, and candidates whose experience goes beyond just data mining
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Access
Excellent analytical skills are a must; the ability to create detailed models and synthesize large amounts of data into actionable business insight
Familiarity with statistical techniques and experience using analytic tools preferred
Business experience working in an analytic capacity in fields such as product analytics, management consulting, risk management, marketing analytics, or financial analysis
University Degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance or equivalent
Post graduate degree/designation in one of the following: MBA (Finance), CFA, CPA, or equivalent preferred
5-7 years of business experience in Banking with a focus on lending products
Knowledge of lending and sales process is considered an asset
Pricing and/or Product management experience preferred
Ability to interact with senior management, strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to synthesize information into key messages appropriate for the audience
Intellectual curiosity and interest in using data to drive decision
High aptitude to learn quickly and integrate into new teams and projects
Experience at a major Financial Institution
