One of our major banking clients is looking for a Business Analyst (Regulatory knowledge, AI/ML, Python, SAS, R, SQL)
Length: 9 Months Contract with the possibility of extension
Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid (2 days a week in office)
Hours of Operation: 9am to 5:30 pm

Requirements:
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Model Risk Specialist is to assist the Senior Manager and Director of the team to complete a large-scale model validation project, so that the bank is not subject to unjustified (in a risk vs. return framework), undue, and unidentified model risks due to the use of models and promoting the transparency and understanding of models and model risks used across the Bank in the artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) modeling areas.
 Effectively identify risks associated with AI/ML models; timely, accurately and independently assess models used in the areas of responsibility; and tactfully provide the recommendations to model owners and users to mitigate the risks
 Ensure that the models (development, documentation, usage, etc.) are compliant with the Bank's Enterprise Model Risk Framework, and are compliant with OSFI/FRB/OCC's requirements
 Provide advisory support to large-scale projects as required and other work streams as appropriate and requested to ensure that bank's models are in line with industry best practice
 Support the Director in the development and execution of overall work plan

Qualifications:
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS:
 Hands-on and advanced knowledge in AI/ML models used for financial crime prevention (AML, fraud, and cyber security, etc.) monitoring.
 Statistical modelling

NICE TO HAVES:
 Previous banking experience
 Good knowledge and relevant training in AI/ML modeling techniques for behavioral and pattern analysis; with minimal 3 years experience pertaining to Fraud, AML transaction monitoring, large language modeling, and/or statistical modeling.
 Good knowledge of regulatory requirements on Fraud, AML and AI/ML models; experience in regulatory matters as an asset.
 Effective time management in order to efficiently deliver concurrent projects with competing priorities
 Good ability of conflict-solving; and ability to collaboratively work with model owner/sponsor counterparts
 Effective presentation and communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts and outcomes to non-subject matter experts.
 Proficiency in computing development skills, particularly statistical and database modeling tools (Python, SAS, R, SQL, Matlab, Access/VBA etc.). Ability to adapt to various programming languages and environments.

Skills:
 Detail-oriented, analytical, well organized, highly self-motivated and good interpersonal skills

EDUCATION:
 Master degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics and/or Engineering, etc.
 PhD in quantitative field or combination of quantitative and business degrees preferred
