Our Government Client is looking for a Release Manager (Agile, DevOps, ITIL 4, SAFe, Lottery, Government)
Duration: 9 months contract with the possibility of extension
Location: Vancouver, BC (Remote)
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Pacific Time excluding statutory holidays in British Columbia, or as otherwise agreed to by the parties in writing
Reports To: Manager, Data Center Operations
Pay Rate: $96.30/hr (T4) or $104/hr (Self Employed)
Estimated Start Date: September 15th, 2025

Requirements:
ROLE MANDATE
This role is critical in bridging the gap between traditional ITIL-based release coordination and Agile delivery, ensuring that releases are well-planned, low-risk, and aligned with business priorities. You will also contribute to the future-state design of release management practices across the organization.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
 Lead the end-to-end release lifecycle for a major Lottery initiative, coordinating across multiple Agile teams and technical platforms
 Define and implement best practices for Agile-aligned release management, including release planning, readiness assessments, risk mitigation, and post-release reviews
 Develop and maintain a comprehensive release calendar and roadmap, ensuring visibility and alignment across teams and stakeholders
 Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, DevOps, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure release readiness and quality
 Establish and evolve release governance processes, including release gates, checklists, and compliance with enterprise standards
 Identify and manage release risks, dependencies, and issues, escalating as needed to ensure successful delivery
 Provide expert guidance and coaching to internal teams on modern release management practices
 Contribute to the design of future-state release management capabilities, tools, and frameworks for broader organizational adoption
 Other tasks as reasonably required by the Project Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
 Candidate has 6+ years of experience in Release Management, with at least 3 years in Agile or DevOps environments
 Candidate has ITIL certification (V4 preferred)
 Candidate has experience with Agile
 Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
 Proven experience managing complex, multi-team releases in large-scale enterprise environments
 SAFe certification or other relevant Agile certification


Qualifications:
SKILLS
 Advanced knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
 Deep understanding of Agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and their impact on release planning
 Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and release automation tools
 Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Git, Jenkins, or similar
 Strong risk management, quality assurance, and governance experience
 Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
 Experience with ServiceNow, specifically in tracking and managing release records within an ITSM framework
 Strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement scalable release processes
 Strong leadership and facilitation skills, especially in cross-functional environments
 Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail
 Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity in complex environments
 Collaborative and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset

 You may preform services remotely within British Columbia including at offices listed below:
o Vancouver Office
o Kamloops Office
 Parking at Offices:
o Vancouver Office - Daily parking fee is required to be paid by you. Client will not reimburse this fee
o Kamloops Office - Daily parking is free
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
 Client will not be providing laptop. Client will provide a login for a Virtual Desktop that you can use on your own laptop. It will work with both Windows and MacOS.
